On Monday 14th January the Spanish Chamber of Commerce opened the 2013 calendar with one of its most popular corporate events: the New Year Drinks Reception<\/strong>, that was held at <\/strong>The May Fair Hotel, part of\u00a0 <\/strong>Radisson Blu Edwardian<\/a>, Patron of the Chamber.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

The event brought together many representatives from a wide range of British and Spanish companies by giving them the chance to celebrate the start of a promising 2013 together. Attendees enjoyed a delightful evening accompanied by some great canap\u00e9s from the Quince Restaurant at The May Fair Hotel and the finest <\/b>wines and cava provided by C&D Wines<\/a>, member of the Chamber, and Bodegas Muga<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mr. Javier Fern\u00e1ndez, President of the Spanish Chamber and Mr. Igor Urra, Secretary General, were in attendance to welcome our guests.<\/p><\/div>\n

Speeches kicked off with Mr. Javier Fern\u00e1ndez<\/b>, President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce<\/b>, who talked about the challenges currently faced by Spain, but also showed his enthusiasm about the Chamber\u00b4s project going forward and how the institution can help companies starting in the UK.<\/p>\n

This year\u00b4s reception was also special because it was the formal presentation of our new Secretary General,<\/strong> Mr. Igor Urra<\/b>,\u00a0 who also addressed attendees and encouraged both members and non-member companies to get to know us better<\/strong> and get in touch with the Chamber to explore further ways in which our institution can be of assistance to them.<\/p>\n

In addition to this he mentioned the growing number of non-member companies that\u00a0 over the past few months have actively taken part in\u00a0 some of our activities, which increases the professional network to which our members have access.<\/p>\n

The ambience was the perfect setting for the attendees from our member and Patron companies, and all guests had a good time in a friendly atmosphere, networking and sharing their projects and resolutions for the year that has just begun<\/p>\n
