The week followed with some other activities for the participants to complete their induction.
An amusing and popular talk was delivered on Tuesday by two Spanish journalists in the UK: Mr. Miguel Ángel Idígoras, TVE correspondent, and Mr. Roberto Casado from Expansión.com. The media correspondents shared their perspective of their experiences abroad, they knowledge and the work they do for their media here, what kind of news they search for in order to meet what Spanish audience demands. They also compared the way journalism is performed in Spain and in Great Britain, which has always been a reference for Spanish media as a synonym of quality and good practices. They pointed out the importance that English people give to communication and selling, how good they are on that, at any level and within any sector.

The next day, they visited the premises of a foreign exchange company that is taking part on the programme and which happens to be one of our members as well: Ebury Partners Ltd,. The site visit gave participants an idea of the kind of businesses our associate is involved in, specialised in foreign exchange transactions and risk management. They also got a hint of how the rhythm in an office in London is. Mr. Fernando Cid welcomed us, and two more representatives of Ebury, Mr. Fernando Pérez and Mr. Joan Bonilla, spent the afternoon with the group. Mr. Pérez and Mr. Bonilla gave a presentation to introduce Ebury Partners and their core business. Speakers also talked about the current situation in the markets is and gave a global vision to the students and showed some case studies on projects they had dealt with.

The participants were very interested during the presentation of Ebury Partners
The very last day of the Induction Week, participants visited the Regent’s University London, former member of the Spanish Chamber. This is the school where they will attend the English lessons and workshops. On Friday, they had the opportunity to meet Mr. Steve Phillips, who is responsible of the course . During the visit, Mr. Phillips informed the students about the classes, teachers and how to proceed during the workshops.
We would love to thank our speakers who kindly collaborated with us during this week. We will be following the progress of this year’s participants, and we wish them all the best and encourage them to make the most out of this unique experience.
