We are pleased to announce that the first session of the exciting “Leadership in Focus” forum is to be held on 21st May 2013 and will be covering the diverse topic of “Leading Multicultural Teams”.

The event promises to be a lively introduction to cross-cultural awareness and the impact that cultural diversity makes in the workplace. The presentation, delivered by International House, will highlight and equip participants with the necessary behavioural skills to lead multi-cultural teams with maximum effectiveness in an increasingly global work environment.

This first session is designed to introduce management to the concept of becoming culturally sensitive in their communications with their international teams. It will give attendees the tools to carry out on-going cultural audits which prepare them effectively for multicultural leadership roles and international communications.

The “Leadership in Focus Forum”, created by the Spanish Chamber in collaboration with Avocet’s Consulting, International House and Hill Networks, kicked off with a Launch Event on 2nd May. The forum will span 6 months with a series of lively, informative, involving and fun sessions providing  insights and simple, practical tools to build intercultural communication sensitivity. Each session will be chaired by the Chamber’s Secretary General and the presenting collaborating member; which at this first event is International House.

They will aim to develop effective communication strategies for future management practices which incorporate the newly perceived inter-cultural skills and to help attendees understand differences in communication style between colleagues and cultures, including virtual, phone and email communication.

Following the Launch Event, this forum on “Leading Multicultural Teams” will be a great way to begin the “Leadership in Focus Forum” in earnest, so make sure you put it in your diary and sign up soon, as places are limited. You can find out more and register your attendance in the UPCOMING EVENTS section of our website, and we will also be sending out further information in our weekly Newsletter.
